Our Nighttime Routine

Setting yourself up with a good nighttime routine is important to keep you on track for the days and weeks ahead. Not only does it help you develop and maintain healthy habits, but it can also work wonders on your skin! Here are some of our favourite rituals that we incorporate into our nighttime routine!

Drink Herbal Tea
Some herbal teas have an amazing ability to calm your body and mind. Chamomile, for example, is the perfect tea to consume before bed for a number of reasons. Firstly, some studies have shown that Chamomile contains an antioxidant that may be responsible for helping you fall asleep. Secondly, Chamomile is great for your skin, including helping to reduce the appearance of dry patches, redness and even acne. Flavoured herbal teas are also a great way to curb your dessert cravings late at night. A sugar spike right before bed is definitely going to delay your ability to fall asleep. Not to mention that you’ll be skipping all of those extra, unwanted calories.

Turn Off Electronics
This is a rule that is tried and true in our households! It is so easy to get caught up in the world of Facebook, Instagram and even emails right up until lights out. However, the stimulation that your mind receives from electronics is enough to prevent you from falling asleep. We’re not making this up! To make sure you get a full night of restful sleep, set a digital curfew (for example: phones off after 8 p.m.) for you and your family. In addition to limiting your access to phones and computers past a certain time after work, it’s also beneficial to turn off ALL electronics (including TV) at least 30 minutes before bed. Spend that time reading or chatting with your loved ones. Trust us, you won’t regret incorporating this very simple habit into your nighttime routine.

DIY Face Mask
Face masks are the perfect addition to your nighttime routine and can do wonders for your skin. Depending on the ingredients, facemasks have the ability to reduce the appearance of redness, increase hydration and help to decrease the appearance of acne, fine lines and wrinkles over time. We recommend adding them into your nighttime routine once or twice a week. Here’s a great DIY Facemask that you can make at home as part of an overall facial: combine one tablespoon of green clay, one tablespoon of water and two pumps of our InflorEssence Moisturizer together and apply it generously to your face. Now it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy! Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and then rinse away.


Skincare Routine
Maintaining a consistent skincare ritual is very important for your nighttime routine. In addition to washing your face every morning, you should also wash your face at night using our Complete Skincare System.
